Contact Lens Wearing Cat

The Isle of Wight recently accomplished something that's never been done before. A 15 year old cat named Ernest received a set of contact lenses to correct a vision problem. Ernest, a popular resident at the RSPCA, had problems with the lids of its eyes being turned inside. This caused scratching on his eye balls that effectively hurt his vision.
Employees at the RSPCA said his eyes used to be shut but now with the help from contact lenses, he's much more comfortable and able to keep his eyes open. Following standard contact lens protocal, volunteers will clean and change Ernest's contact lenses every few weeks.
While this new break through might eventually help animals around the globe, it's not recommended to start bringing your pets with you to the opticians.
